This completely skips over any permissions online or online settings windows (GoogleDrive + Box) and lets me immediately paste a link in an email. The Dropbox Sync installation gives a right-click context menu element "Share Dropbox Link". I specifically use Dropbox for most of my collaboration or sharing because of how damn easy it is on Windows. I do sync my Projects folder and Classwork folder, which lets me save documents on my laptop and then work on them later on my desktop with no fussing about. As a result I can keep all of my 10 gig textbook files in Dropbox, but not actually sync them to my laptop unless I specifically allow it. I have installed Dropbox and Google Drive, which both have selective-sync functionality.

As such I do not install Box Sync on my laptop. My laptop has a 128gig SSD, which is limiting to the amount of things I want to store on it. all on both of these platforms.īox's sync platform does not have a selective-sync functionality. Split between them I have most of my documents, pictures etc. Dropbox gave me closer to 65 gigs for free. This lets me have a nice easy repetitive form that produces a nice spreadsheet instead of having to carry around a physical journal.īox's system gave me 50 gigs for free, that was the primary motivator. For example, I have used a form this semester for my Moon Journal in my Astronomy course.

I have an Android phone, and have used Google Drive for it's cross platform integration as well as it's forms capabilities. I have SkyDrive mostly for integration with OneNote, I honestly don't use it for much of anything else. Very similar to Google Drive, but hosted and run by RIT. It would be really cool if you could share folders/files with other students so you could use it as a collaborative space. It would have to be available off campus without the need for a VPN. It would need to have a minimum of 10GB and the ability to upload folders that are not zipped. It would need to have easy web access though. I would like to use an RIT hosted storage solution. My cloud is running in a RAID 5 that is fully backed up once a week to a second server and moved off site on a biweekly basis.I use my could for personal files as well though. School work would require around 10GB, more would be nice.I provide a link to my personal storage (AjaXPlorer and OwnCloud).I use the M圜ourses Library on occasion.Windows, Linux, OSX, Android, but primarily web access.I don't like using other peoples storage. Personal cloud (AjaXPlorer and OwnCloud) hosted by myself.
